How to Cut Cardstock on Cricut

Do you want to learn how to cut cardstock on your Cricut machines? These are the right steps you can follow if you want to cut cardstock on Cricut without making any mistakes. Let’s begin!

Before moving with the cutting process, make sure that you have the right blade and ensure it is clean.

If the blade is not clean or is a little worn out, then take an aluminum foil and poke the blade in it. (Also, if you find the blade extremely dull, then replace it with a new one.)

You can try out different types of cardstocks, from textured to smooth to glitter.

Next, get the best compatible mat which is sticky. And ensure that the mat you are using is clean.

If you are using a mat that has lost its stickiness or is dirty, clean it to get its stickiness back.

Now, with the help of a brayer, press the material down on the mat. To stick the materials properly on the material, run the brayer on it with a little force.

Furthermore, open the Cricut app to find the image you want to cut. Click on the Upload option to cut the design from your device, and then select Upload Image.

Next, go ahead and select the Browse option.

Moreover, upload your SVG design to the Cricut app; the file will be uploaded as a cut file.

Choose that design from the Recent Uploads files and resize it according to your project.

Take your cutting blade and attach it to your Cricut cutting machine.

Now, load the mat into the machine and run the machine by pressing the Load/Unload mat button.

After that, take out the cut image from the mat. Also, turn the mat over and peel it back from the paper.

Here you go; your cut process is complete.
