  • Check if the Cricut machine is powered on.

  • See whether there are any available firmware updates for your Cricut model.

  • Ensure that the machine is connected to your PC via USB or Bluetooth.

  • Verify that you have signed into your Cricut Design Space account.


Now, these are the quick steps you need to follow if you want to link your cartridge to the Cricut Explore Air 2 machine. Make sure to follow all the steps carefully to avoid any mistakes. 


  • Initially, you need to open your Windows or Mac computer and then log in to your Design Space account. 

  • Make sure your machine is powered on and connected to your device.

  • Then launch the Design Space menu at the top and select the Settings icon.

  • Now, move to the Machines section, select “Link Cartridges,” and click the “Start” option.

  • After that, in the Link Cartridges drop-down, choose your device. Cartridge adapters will appear in the list as “Adapter.”

  • Once instructed, insert your cartridge into the cartridge port on the left side of the machine above the Open button. If your machine doesn’t have a cartridge port, you can plug the cartridge into a compatible adapter instead.

  • The app will recognize the cartridge after waiting for a few minutes. 

  • When the cartridge is detected, the Link Cartridge button will be enabled.

  • Once the button to start the process is pressed. Once done, a confirmation message will appear on your screen.

  • Next, you can link other cartridges, see your cartridges, or choose the cross icon in the upper-right side of the window to return to Canvas.

  • Finally, the process will be complete.
